The Dupe Lamp

Priced at Blue Dot for over $300 I knew I could make this for far less. Normally that wouldn't push me to pony up and actually go through with making it but my wife (then girlfriend so I had to show off) was set on buying the overpriced tube and perforated sheet lamp. Some cheap cutoffs from local metal suppliers, automotive paint, and 3d printed parts later and this Dupe Lamp was complete. Spending less than $50 on materials and not charging for my time I presented the lamp to my future wife. I think it was a pivotal moment. She now knew what lengths I would go for her, and how far I would go to not pay for what I don't think is "worth it".
